Ebook About He thought getting a second chance at life was difficult, but resisting the spark he feels with her will test all of his strength.Vi Harris comes with baggage most men can’t handle. A famous ex footballer for a father and four professional footballing brothers. Brothers she helped raise after their mother died. Dating isn’t easy when the infamous Harris Brothers not only play defence on the pitch, but block most love interests from getting too close to their sister. Hayden Clarke isn’t the guy you take home to meet your parents. He’s brooding, troubled, and just survived the darkest days of his life. Which is why a distraction like Vi could cost him everything. When Vi’s bright, cheeky smile and oversized dog crash into him without warning, he can’t help but get wrapped up in her. Despite his better judgement, he enlists Vi to help him with a special assignment that’s anything but romantic. Through it all, she doesn’t see his flaws. She doesn’t see him as broken. She sees him as the man he’s been fighting his whole life to be. But what happens when her strength becomes his weakness?Book Strength Review :
I was one of those people who read Challenge and immediately started stalking the author only to discover Vi had her own book in a different series (in case you're one of those don't-really-read-the-blurb people, Strength is the original story, That One Moment, with new, never before published scenes and epilogues). So of course I had to go read anything that had more of those crazy Harris brothers. There are a lot of characters that carry over from the London Lovers and Lost in London series, so reading those first will give you a lot of background, but I thought it worked perfectly well read as a standalone.Vi and Hayden's story has a lot of the humor but a lot of heartache as well. Vi is tough and independent--well, between growing up without a mother and all those brothers, she'd have to be--but she isn't without her vulnerabilities. Hayden is sweet and sad, sexy and moody as he deals with trying to get his life back on track. I alternated between wanting to give him a Gibbs' style wap across the back of the head while telling him to open his eyes to what's in front of him, to just wanting to give him a hug for all he's been through. Vi has pretty much the same reaction, with the additional bonus of off the charts chemistry, so their relationship is an epic rollercoaster ride. One of the things I love about both the Harris Brothers and London Lovers series is the relationships. Here, I especially loved Hayden's "baby whisperer" status to 3 month old niece Marisa and Vi's relationship with her brothers, but there are plenty of other great secondary characters around, all adding another layer to the story.Great characters, great relationships and a story that alternated between laughter and tears all added up to a 5 star read for me. I don’t know how I missed this one! I thought I was totally caught up with Amy’s London Lover’s series so I moved onto the Harris Brothers Series. I loved Vi in that series and kept wishing I knew more about her and Hayden’s story. Luckily their story is here and it is EVERYTHING! It was beautiful, emotional, and uplifting. I loved Vi and Hayden so much. Both of them had gone through so much, and had struggled for so long. In each other they found strength, courage, love, and acceptance. It was gut wrenching at times, but their love for each other was strong enough to put back all the broken pieces moment by moment. I loved Vi’s relationship with her brothers. She loved them and took care of them for so long. She was a great sister and held her family together. But she and Hayden found everything they had been missing in each other. For those of you who are new to Amy Daws’ work, Strength was originally titled That One Moment and was part of her London Lover’s series. It’s the same story, but after Vi’s brother’s got their own series, it seems fitting that Vi and Hayden’s story be included in that series with a cover that matches the rest. I adore this cover revamp and the bonus content and extra epilogue is awesome. I think their story fits perfectly into the Harris Brother’s series, so if you haven’t yet, definitely check it out. If you’ve read That One Moment, I’d still recommend grabbing Strength for all the bonus content and extra epilogue that has been added to the original story.
